Message templates and approval
Create templates, understand the categories, and get them approved by Meta.
Template messages are pre-written messages that Meta reviews before you can send them to people who have not messaged you recently. They power broadcasts and automation.
Categories
- Marketing: offers, announcements, and promotions
- Utility: order updates, reminders, and account notices
- Authentication: one time passcodes
Pick the category that matches the content. Miscategorizing is a common reason for rejection.
Create a template
Go to Templates and create a new one. Add your text, optional variables like name or order number, and any buttons or media. Submit for review.
Avoid rejections
- Match the category to the message
- Use variables inside natural sentences
- Keep the content honest and clear
- Follow formatting and link rules
If a template is rejected, adjust the wording or category and resubmit.
