Before you start
- A Zoho CRM account with admin access (Professional plan or higher).
- A YVWhatsApp account with WhatsApp connected and at least one Meta-approved template.
- Your YVWhatsApp Webhook Secret (Step 1 below).
Get your Webhook Secret
Log in to YVWhatsApp and go to Settings → Integrations → Zoho CRM. Copy your Webhook Secret, you'll paste it into Zoho in Step 3.
This single secret links your Zoho org to your YVWhatsApp workspace, no connection or developer setup required.
Install the YVWhatsApp extension
Open the private install link you received (or find YVWhatsApp in your Zoho Marketplace) and click Install. Choose to install for all users or selected profiles.
The extension adds a Send WhatsApp button to your Leads and Contacts, no Connections, Widgets, or Functions to configure.
Paste your Webhook Secret
Go to Setup → Marketplace → All → YVWhatsApp → Settings and fill in:

Save. Your secret is stored securely and used only server-side, it never appears in the browser.
Send your first message
- Open a Lead/Contact that has a phone number.
- Click the Send WhatsApp button.
- Search and pick a template, the message shows in the preview.
- Fill any variables (pre-filled from the record).
- Click Send WhatsApp.
That's it, in-record sending is live.
Optional, automate from a Workflow
To auto-send a template (e.g. a welcome message on new Lead), go to Setup → Automation → Workflow Rules → Create Rule on Leads. Set a trigger, then under Actions → Function → Write your own (Deluge) paste the script provided by YVWhatsApp and set your apiUrl, webhookSecret, and templateName. Map number → ${Leads.Phone}, then Save & Execute with a test number.
Troubleshooting
Templates don't load / "Could not reach YVWhatsApp"
Your Webhook Secret isn't set. Open the extension's Settings and paste it into yvwa_secret.
"Webhook Secret is not set"
Same fix, add your secret in the extension Settings, then reopen the widget.
"No approved templates found"
Approve at least one template in WhatsApp/Meta, then reopen the widget.
"No phone number found"
Add a phone number to the Lead/Contact first.
Send WhatsApp button missing
Make sure the extension is installed and active. Reinstall the latest version from your private link.
Widget opens blank
Reinstall the latest extension version, then hard-refresh the record page.
